Demi Lovato č nata a Dallas, in Texas, da Patrick Lovato e Dianna Hart. Nata come secondogenita Demi ha due sorelle: Dallas Lovato, anche lei attrice e cantante, 5 anni piů grande di Demi e Madison DeLaGarza (sua sorellastra), piů piccola di 10 anni. La madre, Diana Lovato, č stata un Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Demi Lovato fin da piccola ha vinto numerosi concorsi di talenti in Texas, come ad esempio l' "Eismann Center" e il "Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show". Ha iniziato a fare le sue prime comparse all'etŕ di sei anni, nella serie Barney & Friends, nel ruolo di Angela, dove ha conosciuto la sua migliore amica Selena Gomez che interpretava Gianna. Con il passare del tempo Demi ha inziato a studiare canto e pianoforte. Nel gennaio 2007 ha sbarcato su Disney Channel nel ruolo di Charlotte Adams nella serie televisiva As the Bell Rings versione americana dell'italiano Quelli dell'intervallo. Demi č la protagonista femminile del Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, uscito su Disney Channel USA il 20 giugno 2008 e uscito in italia il 27 settembre 2008 su Disney Channel Italia. Questa cosa le ha portato molta fortuna: infatti, ha partecipato ai "Disney Channel Games 2008" e apre ogni data del "Burning Up Summer Tour" dei Jonas Brothers. Il suo album di debutto č stato rilasciato il 23 settembre 2008. Si chiama "Don't Forget" e si č piazzato subito secondo nella "Billboard 200". That's How You Know rienterpretata da Demi per il film Come d'incanto č stata nominata agli Academy Award. Nel 2008 č seconda nella classifica di BOP Magazine delle Hottest Stars piů famose. Nel 2008 č apparsa ai Disney Channel Games 2008 nella Squadra dei blu assieme ad Alyson Stoner, sua collega ed amica in Camp Rock. Demi insieme alla sua amica Selena Gomez ha interpretato la parte della principessa Rosalinda nel Disney Channel Original Movie Programma Protezione Principesse, e sta riscuotendo un elevato successo con la nuova serie, Sonny Tra Le Stelle. Inoltre č da poco uscito il suo nuovo album che tuttora si trova alla posizione numero 1 di Billboard Hot200.
